I adopted my 7 yr old male cat 3 years ago and he does not squat when he pees nor does he bury it. I have witnessed him lifting his tail and aiming at the litterbox walls. Sometimes he pees with his front paws out of the box and rear paws in it. This makes me so angry because the smell is strong, I have to use pee pads for the floor around the box. I now have his litter box in an oversized storage tote to control the mess. Been to the vet. No health issues.
How, or what can I do to help improve this behavior? Please help!
